On 4 November 2017 historic EMU 766 stands in Amsterdam Centraal, carrying stickers to celebrate 150 years of the Red Cross. In the event of hostilities between the East and the West during the Cold War (in that event having turned quite hot) such EMUs would have ben commandeered by the Army to be used as mobile hospitals and in the 1960s they might have looked a bit like this: green EMUs with clearly visible Red Cross markings. On 21 August 1996 Stichting De Hondekop held their first excursion with their recently acquired EMU 766, sen here that day during the excursion at Onnen. The EMU carries the NS Reizigers colours, albeit with a phantasy moustache. Later on, the 766 will be repainted in the green with beige moustaches as being delivered in the 1950s.
