The image pages are operated on
an own web server (Strato). Approximately 2000 GB of traffic is generated per month (as of 2016). Currently, about 1000 GB of storage space is used. Backups are made weekly on another server. A large part of the programming was done by myself. PHP is used for this, and MySQL is used as the database.
I am a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) in Communication Technology / Telecommunications and have specialized in programming in the internet sector.
In addition to the image portals, I also operate online city maps like the
Kartogiraffe.

Development
The image pages originated from Bahnbilder.de. This is my private website, which I first launched online in 1998. Initially with the help of free web space providers, later I acquired a .de domain. The first content of Bahnbilder.de was - as the name suggests - my own photos of railways and the Berlin S-Bahn, later screensavers and railway simulations meticulously sourced from the internet by me were added. This software section is no longer operated. In August 2006, I made the software multi-page capable and have since operated the aforementioned image pages.
The image pages are privately operated by the admins and me. Please understand that updates or fixing errors may sometimes take a while. Also, the approval of your images cannot be guaranteed in every case, as this is at the discretion of the respective admin.
Advertising
The image pages are operated on an own web server. This incurs costs that I could not bear privately. Therefore, some advertisements must be placed. For the user, the pages are thus free of charge.
