"Le Vieux Garde perdú, mais ne rend pas" ("the Old Guard dies, but yields not") -a supposed quote of Napoleon's Old Guard at the closing stages of the Battle of Waterloo. On 27 August 2021, CD 230 029 -still sporting her original colours- is one of the few Class 230s that still "yields not" -and will pass a row of at least nine decommissioned and partly cannibalised sister engines at Breclav.
