On 22 March 2013, NS 7867 calls at 's-Hertogenbosch. Class mDDM 7800 were developed out of the D-AR double deck coaches (three coach numbered in the 7300 series, four coach sets in the 7400 series) that were hauled by a Class 1700 electric locomotive. In 1999 NS ordered fifty EMU motor coaches to replace the Class 1700s on the hauled DD-AR stock, creating EMU Class 7800 and freeing fifty Class 1700s that were cascaded to other duties. From 2006 all Class 7800 were subject to a massive rebuilding programme, resulting in the DDZ/NID intercity EMUs of Classes 7500/7600 -and these are now temporarily out of service.
