On platform 1 in Lausanne, the SBB Historic Ae 4/7 10976 awaits departure with its training train. The locomotive was delivered in 1931 and remained in active service until 1995, when, after 64 years of service, it was incorporated into the SBB Historic locomotive collection. The SBB training train is traditionally hauled by "old-style" locomotives, which, while not exactly a perfect match for the train, provide an opportunity for the locomotives to be moved and for railway photographers to photograph them.
