Gänsbrunnen is located in the "Tahl" and can only be reached by train from the Mittelland in a very short time as the road connection requires a fairly large detour. For this reason, the Weissenstein Tunnel is now also being renovated. so that rail operations can continue to be offered on these routes in the future.

The Solothurn - Moutier route belonged to the SMB, which in turn formed a joint venture with EBT and VHB and later the RM
