As the kilometer sign on the contact line mast on the right of the picture shows, Montreux is only 8 km from Les Avants. What is not visible here is the height difference of 575 meters from Les Avants (970 m) to Montreux (395 m). January 3, 2025 

A few minutes later the CEV MVR ABeh 2/6 7504 "Vevey" arrived at the pretty Chamby train station as R 34 2317 on the way from Les Avants to Montreux. Chamby is located at 749 m above sea level. There is hardly any snow to be seen here. January 3, 2025 
