The car tunnel trains on the AT1 route (and AT2 in high season) to Kandersteg (or Iselle) and AT 3 Brig Iselle are the last scheduled areas of operation for the BLS Re 4/4 (Re 425). The picture shows the BLS Re 4/4 192 with its tunnel train in Goppemstein station. On the right of the picture, the worn out BLS RABe 521 can still be seen as the R1 from Bern to Brig.

However, the route to the tunnel offers good opportunities to photograph the last BLS Re 4/4 in use. I still stayed at Kandersteg train station and was able to photograph the BLS Re 4/4 185 with its car tunnel train in the station. The train is waiting for the BLS RABe 521 to depart as R1 from Domodossola to Bern, in order to then travel as a service train towards Frutigen. Jan 3, 2024

As expected, the TPC Beh 4/8 591 drove through the vineyards above Aigle again as Regio R 71 440 and offered me a welcome change in the ASD's use of rolling stock, given the timing of its replacement by the new ABe 4/8 in the next few months.

The route leads in wide loops through the vineyards above Aigle. In the picture the regional train R 71 435 from Les Diablerets to Aigle with the TPC ASD BDe 4/4 402 and the Bt 434 pushing. The small train is shown in front of the castle of Aigel and the region's wonderful Alpine scenery.

This control car was put into operation as Bt 25 at the BLT, then came to the AOMC as Bt 131, and in 2000 after it was never put into operation at the AOMC, to the ASD. What is striking is the left front wall door, which gives the now almost sixty-year-old Bt 434 a very pleasing appearance.
