On 15 July 2022 NS 1746 gets coupled on an ICE-3M that became defective a day earlier near Zevenaar. Due to logistical reasons ProRail stabled the High-Speed EMU at Nijmegen and the 15th NS 1746 was to haul the ICE to Amsterdam-Watergraafsmeer via Tilburg. Leonardus Schrijvers
The fastest train in the NS reizigers fleet, ICE 4653/406 053, called it quits on Thursday 14 July at Zevenaar, was evacuated and then empty hauled to Nijmegen, where on 15 July NS 1746 is about to haul the defective ICE toward Amsterdam-Watergraafsmeer via 's-Hertogenbosch, Tilburg, Dordrecht, Rotterdam and Leiden, this detour being courtesey of engineering works between Utrecht and 's-Hertogenbosch.
