Top-and-tailed InterCity, headed by 101 054, passes through Köln Süd on 30 March 2017 via the outer (freight) tracks, which was a bit unusual for passing IC-trains.

On 14 September 2019 DB 101 064 stands in Goppingen and shows during the Märklin Days there her Märklin advertising livery.

Terug-naar-Toen (Back to Beyond), the annual steam bonanza of the VSM, sees each hour a steam shuttle train between Apeldoorn and Beekbergen ,head quarters of the VSM.

On 5 November 2020 Lineas 186 449 yet has to receive her stickers when she hauls a steel train through Tilburg-Reeshof and gets photographed from the platform with some zooming.

TCS has bought four DB locos class 101 for extra train haulage through Germany and one of them, 103004 (ex DB 101 033) enters Venlo with the return Sziget-II Express from Hungary, although the loco took the train from Passau to Venlo on 14 August 2024. 
