The General Motors  JT42 CWR-M “Class 66” is a heavy haul, 6-axle, diesel-electric locomotive.
The locomotive has a two stroke 2.420 kW / 3.290 HP, Turbo charged 12N-710G3B-T2 diesel engine. This DC powered
locomotive is controlled by an onboard computer (EM 2000) and has various feedback and sensing devices.
MRCE offers this locomotive homologated in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, including ETCS (L1 &L2) for the Betuwe Line and Rotterdam Harbourline.
The JT42 CWR design originated in the 1970’s, the current production model is the result of many improvements made since that time. It has proven itself to be a solid based model, and with its basic design and DC traction power, is a reliable asset in any fleet.

It is large and looks very powerful. The Gravita has the appearance you expect for a powerful locomotive. It is used primarily for transporting freight. It was developed especially for this. Fast and safe pulling heavy loads. Large amounts don't pose a problem. Perfect for shunting and a wide variety of other applications. Locally and wherever it's needed.
