One of the newly joined Class M10 locomotive to SLR is seen at Medwatchchiya in the northern line with a Class S11 DMU on the side.

EMD G12 Class M2 - 628 was seen at COlombo-Fort on 26th Oct 2013.

Locally developed rail buses were tested by SLR. One set is made out of two road passenger motor buses connected to run from both ends like a DMU. Amazingly this was seen at Pattipola, the highest rail station in the country ( 6000 feet Above Mean Sea Level) on an excursion tour few years ago. Few units are deployed in remote less demand routes but not on the hill country line due to low power genaration on engines. Picture was taken in year 2000 summer. 

Locally developed rail buses were tested by SLR.

Originally imported as a steam rail car in 1927/8 and in 1972 it was converted to diesel hydro-mechanical rail car powered by Rolls-Royce engine.

Class S6 736 is parked at Anuradhapura Running shed, all diesel multiple units in SLR are classified as S Class.
