The Saga begins. On 29 September 2016 Volker Rail 203-5 shunts decommissioned NS DM'90s BUFFEL DMUs at Nijmegen for a possible sale to a Romanian operator. Unclearities in -amongst others- obligatory documentations however ended the sale in 2019. Since Prorail and Nijmegen wanted the area, where 48 BUFFELs were stored, to be cleared up for building an extra platform at Nijmegen, the sale fell through and NS bought the BUFFELs back to get rthem to the scrapyard.

More than one ripple went through the railway fan fraternity when the tidings came, that Strukton bought her first electric locomotive in the form of former NS Reizigers 1824.

The Saga ends. Decommissioned NS DM'90s BUFFEL DMUs stood from 2016 at Nijmegen for a possible sale to a Romanian operator. Unclearities in -amongst others- obligatory documentations however ended the sale in 2019. On 13 November 2019 Volker Rail 203-5 hauls the first batch of DM'90 out of Nijmegen. THe saga continues however with Polish operator SKPL buying the entire batch for deployment in services in the Slask and Dolnislask regions. 
