To clear the tracks at Nijmegen, IRP 2213 hauls a batch of DM'90 Buffels out of Nijmegen on 13 November 2019. The tracks have been lifted due to the building of a new platform to cope with the massive numbers of passengers -Nijmegen has had for decades a too small station for a city of 170,000 inhabitants -not counting the many students and commuters. The Saga ends. Decommissioned NS DM'90s BUFFEL DMUs stood from 2016 at Nijmegen for a possible sale to a Romanian operator. Unclearities in -amongst others- obligatory documentations however ended the sale in 2019. Since Prorail and Nijmegen wanted the area, where 48 BUFFELs were stored, to be cleared up for building an extra platform at Nijmegen, the sale fell through and NS bought the BUFFELs back to get them to the scrapyard.
