Every hour a steam train. It is done by the VSM during their annualy held  Terug naar Toen  steam train bonanza (held every first complete weekend in September) and one of the trains from Apeldoorn is hauled by 52 3879 that is about to enter at Beekbergen, the preservationists' head quarters.

New is the steel train between Beverwijk Tata Steel and Maastricht Beatrixhaven. RFO 2019 304 enters Sittard on 22 September 2024 with such a steel train and will wait for 15 minutes before departing to Maastricht with electric traction. At the station of Maastricht, the loco will switch off the electrics, run round an use Diesel power to haul the literal last mile to the Beatrixhaven.

VSM's  23 076 enters Oss with a steam shuttle to Nijmegen from 's-Hertogenbosch on 28 September 2024. Hobbyist organisation Het Stoomgenootschap tries to organise each year a day of steam shuttles between their home town 's-Hertogenbosch and another city. For 2024 Nijmegen was chosen and four steam shuttles were planned for Saturday 28 September 2024. Sadly, due to several circumstances, one had to be cancelled due to suffering del;ays between 60 minutes an two hours!

Dutch operator Kombi Rail Europe celebrates (more than) 15 years of cooperation with the Rotterdam Port Area and equipped her 2023 newby 193 106 with commemmorative stickers. On 24 October 2024 KRE's 193 106 hauls a fully loaded container train through Angeren near the Betuweroute freight artery. Sadly, this photo spot will be completely destoyed with the extension of the A15 motorway from Valburg toward the German border.
