Parallel shot: NSM 273 quits Rotterdam Centraal on 26 March 2017 as part of the good-bye to the Hoekse Lijn (Hoek van Holland<=>Rotterdam), whilst Stichting Hondekop 766 takes on a new load of passengers on this special weekend, where three museum EMUs were deployed to bid a nice farewell to the Hoekse Lijn.

On 3 March 1988 NS DE-II 171 quits Simpelveld to Kerkrade in the last year of NS operations on this Miljoenenlijn -a nice, but due to the geography rather expensive line to build. After NS left, ZLSM was founded to save the line for touristic trains with steam traction and op till this day, ZLSM has survived, albeit as part of a regional effort to raise income by a touristic train in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Netherlands.

A little prank by SBBCI 193 542 at Roosendaal on 17 March 2025. After her failure to rescue a stranded (and later evacuated) fast train just before Roosendaal -that was brought into Roosendaal by a Belgian Diesel loco- the Swiss electric raises her pantograph to pretend that she will hauls the trainb further, just before she will leave solo.

On 14 December 2024, VSM 50 307 stands in front of the six times daily Christmas-Express steam shuttle train at Arnhem Centraal. The weekend of 14/15 December 2024 VSM deployed six shuttle services with one train set, consisting of a dozen of coaches (from local two-axle wagons to luxurious dining cars) and a steam loco at each end. ON the evening of the 14th however, 50 307 took minor damages and the preservationist of the VSM decided to replace the grossOhr (Big Ear) with two Dutch 1950s Diesel locomotives.
