On a grey 8 September 2022 NS 1746 gets coupled onto an IC-Berlijn to Amsterdam Centraal at Bad Bentheim. That the loco just has put herself to the train can be sen by the frontal pantograph having been raised. When the train leaves, the back pantograph wil have been raised -betwen first contaqct and departure the pantographs of course will have been lowered to enable the local personnel to connect all the necessary cables without being electrified.

On 15 July 2019 NS 1745 couples to an IC-Berlijn that has just been brought into Bad Bentheim  by a sister loco. Due to an acident on the tracks between Bad Bentheim and Osnabrück, further traffic into Germany was impossible for hours. Since the trains to AND from the Netherlands meet within a time span of 25 minutes, the set that entered Bad bentheim from Amsterdam could easily be deployed onto the back leap.

Note the automatic Scharffenberg couplers of the locomotive, that enabled 1700s deployed on regional services to couple and uncouple fast at greater stations, albeit that this feature was no longer used from 2012 after time and again, this coupling during station dwells often failed, leading to delays of ten minutes or more.

Second of five: NS 1732 quits 's-Hertogenbosch with the 2nd of five overnight trains from Tyrol on 4 March 2012. In order to replace Classes 1100, 1200 and 1300 in one blow/ fell swoop (thanks to Shakespeare's  MacBeth) NS ordered French again with a slightly modernised and somewhat lighter nez-cassé like Class 1600. The 81 locos ordered became Class 1700 and from 1994 were almost exclusively deployed om passenger services, from the humble urban trains to international crack passenger trains.

 NSR organised a farewell trip through the Netherlands, using NS 1761 with a rake of DBIC coaches, notmally deployed on the IC-Berlijn (Amsterdam to Bad Bentheim); the last passenger services for this once ubiquitious class electrics. On 19 November 2023 NS 1761 stands in Nijmegen, where she will take a break of ten minutes before continuing to Tilburg and Rotterdam, places, the IC-Berlijn was never to be seen. The phrase at the loco says  after more than 30 years of yeoman service it is time to say goodbye. .
