In for the long haul: Stichting CREW 2454 bought this 99 years old electric rail car Mat'24 Blokkendoos C-9002 'JAAP' from a defunct preservationists' society that went bankrupt. The new owner, already in posession of some very fine restored items, took no half measures and deployed JAAP on a series of test rides of increasing lengths. The last test ride was on 16 April 2023 and took the 9002 from Roosendaal via Tilburg, Nijmegen, Zwolle and Groningen back to Roosendaal -via Amersfoort, Utrecht and Breda. Roosendaal-Groningen is about the longest ride a train can make in the Netherlands and was an ideal close of the test programme. Here, C-9002 stands at Nijmegen, where she had some minor maintenance before departing for the long haul. Since thereis not yet a category 'historic EMUs' I put this one into Stations-Gelderland.

On a cold 14 January 2021 NS 186 222 calls at Tilburg -the last train to Eindhoven that day. Less than an hour later almost every city and town in the Netherlands exploded into fierce rioting due to the lack of understanding for safety measures concerning world-wide pandemics.

On 2 December 2020 ELL/NSR 193 766 calls at Deventer with the IC-Berlijn. These trains were hauled by NS Class 1700s, but in 2020 the first Vectrons were deployed in revenue-earning service as test. After succesfully completing the test phase, NS Reizigers leased up to twelve Vectrons from ELL and supplanted the CLass 1700s with these three-phase current machines that received a yellow with blue paint job.

When the sun is low, the light reaches the Château d'Aigle too late for it to be adequately illuminated as a background for railway pictures and so I had to look for a new location for this photo, where the TPC ASD ABe was in the middle of the vineyards above Aigle 4/8 472 was photographed as R 71 on the way to Les Diablerets.

The Re 4/4 I 10039 is waiting in Lausanne with its special train 31131 to depart for the destination Zurich Enge. The Re 4/4 I now belongs to SWISS RAIL TRAFFIC and was previously on the Mittelthurgaubahn as Re 416 628 and was previously used by the SBB with the number 10039, which is still registered today. At that time, the locomotive, which was delivered on December 22, 1950, still had the chrome letters SBB - CFF or SBB - FFS on the side walls.

The Re 4/4 I 10039 is waiting in Lausanne with its special train 31131 to depart for the destination Zurich Enge. The Re 4/4 I 10039 provides the special train 31131 in Lausanne. The train runs for a tour group to Zurich Enge (with a stop in Palézieux). The train consists of the  Le Salon Bleu  61 85 80-90 200-6 CH-IRSI, the 56 80 89-80 010-2 WGm D-IRSI and the Am 56 80 10-40 360-4 D-IRSI. Since the TEE Rheingold Genève - Amsterdam, at the end of its service life many years ago, consisted of a DB dining car, a DB compartment car and a DB open-plan car and was also pulled by a Re 4/4 I, today's train brings back memories of the TEE 6 / 7, which ran from Geneva for the last time on May 23, 1982 (and then stayed on the Basel - Amsterdam section for a good two years). Unfortunately the Re 4/4 I 10039 was a bit clumsy in front of the sign  Crossing the tracks prohibited, and unfortunately these lighting conditions were not for my little snapshots, so I'm showing a cell phone picture here as an exception.
