NS 7533 passes through Alverna on 18 March 2025. This Class of EMUs came to be as a rebuild of mDDM EMUs that themselves were formerly hauled by NS Class 1700 electrics untill 2000, when fifty driving trailers replaced as many 1700s to form Class mDDM (motorised DDM; being the double deck coaches for regional and urban services) 7800. From 2013 the mDDMs were given a mid-life overhaul, getting transformed into InterCity EMUs Classes 7500 (four coach EMUs) and 7600 (six coach EMUs) of the NID/DDZ design.

In the 2025/26 winter season, a direct train will once again run from Geneva to Le Châble (-Verbier). This year, instead of the operationally complex splitting of an IR90 train in recent years, an RE33 will run through from Martigny. It should be clarified that of the two trainsets arriving in Martigny, one will continue to Le Châble (Verbier), while the "main train" will reverse direction as RE 33, as scheduled. The image shows the SBB RABe 511 110 as RE 33 18463 / RE 3562 from Geneva to Le Châble shortly before entering Sembrancher station, where the train will pass through as scheduled.

The traditional Gotthelf Market takes place in Sumiswald, and the Emmental Railway (Emmentalbahn) runs several steam trains on the Sumiswald Grünen - Wasen i.E. line for this event. The picture shows the E 3/3 853 of the Bern Steam Railway Association traveling from Sumiswald to Wasen near the Oberei stop.
This steam locomotive was built in Winterthur in 1890 under factory number 629 and delivered to the Jura-Simplon Railway (J-S) as F3 853. The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) assigned the E 3/3 series shunting locomotives, numbered 851-853, to Group 82 and renumbered 8571-8576. In 1911, locomotive E 3/3 853 received a new boiler and was sold to the RVT (Regional Transport Company) where it remained in service until 1928, when it was used as an industrial shunting locomotive by Von Roll in Gerlafingen and Klus. When diesel locomotives made steam locomotives obsolete, the Düby Foundation saved this one from being scrapped by transferring it to the DBB (Deutsche Bahn-Gesellschaft). After an overhaul in 1983, it entered service on the Sensetalbahn, among other lines. Following another overhaul in 2021, the DBB E 3/3 853 is primarily used on the Emmentalbahn line between Sumiswald-Grünen and Wasen i.E. Today, the E 3/3 853 bears the UIC number 90 85 0008 573-7. Dutch treat for RegioJet? Rail Force One is a Dutch freight operator that leased one of her Vectrons, in casu 193 627, to RegioJet that has expanded so fast, that they had to draft in any rentable loco -mostly Vectrons, andf that results in a nice variety on the Czech Rycklyk line R8 Bohumin<=>Brno Kralove Polje -and at least until end of September, RFO 193 627 is at the party. Here she has arrived at Brno Kralove Polje with R1118 from Bohumin. Sadly, this loco has lost these beuatiful colours since 2023...

‘Foreign’ signals and overhead lines quickly give it away: this SBB RABe 512 was not photographed in Switzerland; since the 2025/26 timetable change, the SBB RABe 512 has been reaching Annemasse in France, albeit, like its ‘predecessors’, the SBB RABe 511, only on the single track ‘G’ electrified with 15,000 volts and 16 2/3 Hz.
